It’s the World Cup and it’s #FathersDay. So if your budget doesn’t stretch a 50 in Plasma TV. Here is the next best thing that came to mind. Drinking glasses – in particular the Dartington Ultimate range of glasses.
There are three to choose from in the range. The Dartington Ultimate Beer, Cider or lager glass. Here are my impressions of the glasses.

The Dartington Ultimate Beer Glass is an absolute joy to hold. It is quite a large glass but it feels quite easy and comfortable to hold. The top of the glass has a lip that apparently helps the beer right the right part of your palette and I’m reliably informed makes a difference with the type of drink.
The base is again quite large which help prevents the beer from Over warming. Nice touch.
The Glass is designed by Matthew Persson and the gift tube packaging includes a beer mat. I like if you have a beer drinker in your house this glass would be a really nice gift for Fathers Day.

Dartington Ultimate cider glass
The Dartington Ultimate Cider Glass
On a hot summers day I will always lean towards a good cider. Ice cold I just find it is more refreshing than a beer or lager. If you are looking for a Father’s Day gift for a Cider drinker then I would seriously consider the Dartington Ultimate Cider Glass.
Not as bulbous as they beer glass it is more elegant with a straighter edge to it and slightly taller. It holds less liquid than the beer glass, but hey the exercise to the fridge will be good for you.
As usual with Dartington and the beer glass they have thought of the little things to help make like a bit better. The base is oversized to prevent warm cider and there is a slight lip to help with getting thetaste just right. You would be surprised the difference a good glass makes to the taste and smell of your tipple.

The Dartington Ultimate Lager Glass
As I have aged, gracefully or not, my taste in Lagers has changed. I now prefer tastier and dare I say it Continental lagers. So the Dartington Ultimate Lager Glass would be a really nice choice for Fathers day.
It’s the shape of the glass that helps release the flavours of the lager. The glass is better suited to premium lagers as it’s slightly oval-like shape helps release the flavours.
