Bank holiday August – picnics on the beach
by admin on 26/08/10 at 9:59 am
The August bank holiday means one thing for our Family. The Beach!
We pack up the car, hope the traffic will be not too bad (we acknowledge their will always be some traffic) and set off with the anticipation of being blown away.
Ok this is not a a sit on the beach and frazzle under a baking sun, type break. It’s a jump in a cold sea and feel the wind, salt and sand in your hair, type break.
You can keep your Euro holiday where they are all bronzed and wear Speedos. I want my “kiss me quick hats”, questionable weather and cafes will some utterly fantastic fish food.
With minutes of pitching up in our desired location I can guarantee that any stresses and strains of modern day living will all but disappear. All we need to worry about is…well…nothing.
Lunch on the Beach
Well before the clock strikes 12.00, I’m hungry - the entire family is hungry. We like our picnics on the beach
Picnics are mandatory. Sandwiches, flasks of tea and plastics boxes filled with surprises that we know that the children will like. This is the voice of experience - I have looked like Edvard Munch’s “The Scream”, more than once, when perusing a children’s menu in any number of Cafés across this green land of ours.
Liz Million – lunch for kids
Here are some of the essentials that will help you enjoy your picnic on the beach.
Liz Million dinosaur drink bottle
No picnic would be complete without something to drink. Kids need lots of water, especially at the beach so the Liz Million dinosaur drink bottle can be really handy.
Liz Million dinosaur drink bottle costs £4.64
Liz Million Bug Mania lunch bag
My children love eating from their very own lunch bag. They will sit still for almost 15 minutes with the lunch bag propped on their laps. So you could try the Liz Million Bug mania lunch bag.
