Dartington Beer and Cider Glasses

There is nothing quite like a glass of beer, lager or cider to quench the thirst.

We are fortunate in Dorset to have two historic local breweries Hall and Woodhouse Ltd in Blandford Forum and Palmers Brewery in Bridport, still producing fine ales. You can savour their beers at local public houses throughout the year and also at a number of seasonal beer festivals offering sample tasting of the extensive range.

Here are a couple of annual events where you can sample the best that these and other local breweries have to offer.

The Big Bournemouth Beer Festival

The Big Bournemouth Beer Festival takes place at the Bournemouth International Centre from the 2nd to 4th April. Why not make the most of the long Easter weekend to sample the extensive choice at this Festival sponsored by Hot Rocks. The event, is held in the Purbeck Hall, and as well as local favourites, features 150 beers from across the UK including Breweries such as Dark Star, Orkney, Great Orme, Oakham, Holdens Bowman Ales and Stewarts.

Dorchester Beer Festival

Dorchester is home to Beerex an annual beer festival, staged jointly by Dorchester Round Table, Dorchester Ellipse and the West Dorset branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra). This year’s event took place on the 5th & 6th February, serving 80 ales, with new sponsors, the Dorset Piddle Brewery.

With the rise of micro breweries there has never been such a wide choice of ale to savour, and to enhance the enjoyment, investment in a seriously good drinking glass is called for. Such superb ales, lovingly created from the finest natural ingredients, can truly be best appreciated and savoured from glasses specially designed to enhance your drinking pleasure.

As they say “a good drink tastes even better in the right glass”.
